Hi,
I just purchased the D70 and I love it so far. However, I can't get the continuous mode to work. I did everything the manual says but I am holding the button it still takes only one picture. I am wondering if somebody ran into the same problem. I am using SunDisk Ultra II 512MB CF.

When you look at the top (LCD) display, do you see an icon with three offset squares?

its been awhile since i had to do this so forgive me if this doesn't work(haven't been working at the camera shop i was at since school started)
i think u need to set the iso to 1600 (only for the 3fps continuous shooting) then put it to manual and on the continuous shooting.
see if that does it if not i really need to get back around that camera (go back to work).
u mignt try giving another d70 owner here a persional message.

Hmmm, then something might be wrong with your camera because it sounds like you've done everything right. Mine fires like a machine gun when that icon is displayed. As a registered Nikon owner, you should be able to contatc their tech support to determine whether or not the camera is bad. If you bought it at a local store you may want to pay them a visit as well.

Make sure the flash is off, and that the focus mode is at "c" also.

You must have a differnet firmware (or a different D70) than I do.
I can shoot in continuous mode whether my focus setting is Single-servo (AF-S) or Continuous-servo (AF-C) - I just tried it. The difference is only on how the camera maintains its focus, but no restrictions on tripping the shutter.
I wonder if it has something to do with a restriction when the camera is in Auto? I only tested in manual.

Mine will to, in good light. But the shutter will not release until focused in AF-S. Which can be difficult in low light and with no flash. In AF-C the shutter will release even if out of focus.
