I also had the advantage and the pleasure of getting comments from you, Nick
We all - maybe even yourself - will benefit if you stay around just for taking part in the forums, occasional commenting - just spreading our your uplifting spirit |

That may happen, the main problem is that I have lost my driving license, I sat the test but failed on medical grounds. My peripheral vision is shot and my reaction time was shot, so the NZ Transport Dept. cancelled my license. So as far as photography goes I'm limited to what I can photograph. I sold the car to my granddaughter, at 16 she wants to be mobile. So that further limits me photography wise.
Never Mind I just keep on chugging on.

Seems like she ought to be able to occasionally ferry you to some photogenic location. Heck, sign her up and see if she can out-score you! |

I'm not that far behind you myself, brother Nick. It's becoming increasingly obvious that my "good days" are fewer and farther between. Thank goodness for the drone :-) Penny can drive me somewhere and park me while I noodle far-and-wide :-)

It doesn't matter if you can drive around, it would be lovely to of course, but look at Ursulas work and IreneM work, sherpet's work, a lot done in Macro and blurring and around the house or garden. You still have so much to do and look forward too. Go abstract, go eclectic, go blurry, so retro, go flowery. If YOU still enjoy it, then do it, doesn't matter what people score it. If it still makes you happy and pleased, that is all that counts, in the end. Do it for as long as you enjoy it, and remember the rules of DPC are, is anyone can set up the shot, you just have to be the one to trigger the shot (if I remember correctly) get a thumb trigger. ( Bear_Music can you clarify on that point for me?? |

It's actually the opposite: the submitter has to set up/frame the shot and set the parameters, while someone else can push the button -- this is mainly to allow the photographer to appear in the shot without using a remote. But, I think someone else could physically help with the set-up under the photographer's direction. |
