This my first time submitting a photo, and I am so nervous. I still have so much learn. How did you feel the first time you submitted your photo?

Thanks

I felt scared I'd come in last in the voting or embarass myself with a poor shot.

Congratulations on taking your first step. Next one will be easier.

I was sure I was going to win! Or at least score really well...what a comedown that turned out to be.

It was nerve racking and exciting...and soon became damned addictive. Scores haven't improved at all, but it stills gives you a buzz.

I think the biggest thrill for me is trying to come up with a unique idea and shoot it before the deadline, I shot 6 different images for the "macro but not a bug" challenge and had to have my wife decide which to post. I know my pictures aren't that great but that's why I'm here...to learn, and have fun.

This is the worst part of submitting! Deciding which shot to use, you seek the opinion of others, then doubt it...decide to go with your favourite, then doubt it! Eventually you go with the one you think is best until the challenge closes and you know you should have gone with one of the others!

You're damned if you do and damned if you don't!

I was very nervous but I scored ok considering I submitted a very small photograph. But everyone was very nice to me with there comments and offered me constructive advice and criticism. Good luck in the challenge and I hope you do well Kara.

Hey Karalew, I'm submitting my first effort for the Calendar challenge as well. It's scary, sure! I can relate to your statement about "so much to learn", especially (in my case) concerning editing in Photoshop. My submission isn't nearly my best effort, but then, I'll have nowhere to go but up when I enter another challenge, eh? Best of luck to you... we'll have to see how we compare.

Good luck with your 1st challenge and good on you for becoming a member without testing the water in the open challenges.
I was very excited in my 1st challenge and still get a buzz from it 83 challenges later. I have come 2nd place before and last place a few weeks back but it don`t matter as long as you have fun. Good luck

All I can say is do some practice with your mousebutton.
Go and click it a few hundred times before the challenge begins..

You need a good working finger to keep hitting that update button :-)

Edit: Oh and good luck, don't be scared it's fun!

I am so glad to see that you are submitting - can't wait to see it! And all the other new ones submitting for the first time. Good luck and just ENJOY it.

Once you get your feet wet it will all be fun. The next reason to be nervous is when you asked for the original file, if you win or place top 5. lol Here you will really have reasons to get nervous.
