Damn this day is dragging... Almost nobody posts anything, people don't vote on challenges... What's up?

I've been trying to comment on the Open, but worry that my comments sound to "clipped" - it's hard to get through so many! If you get bored, you are welcome to go comment on all the images in my portfolio (LOL)! Maybe everyone is just too tired after all the challenges to vote on.

A DPC'er who is honest in a job interview.

Hello, my name is *insert name* and you should hire me for the following reasons:

1. I tend to spend quite a bit of time each day checking this one photography forum online, you should try it! There are a dozen political rants at any given time that tend to piss me off which I may translate in to hostile behavior at the office.

2. When a photo I submit to a challenge does poorly I may not show up (just to save us all the misery of dealing with the hell that is the rejected-me).

3. I can bring my camera to work and do portraits of everyone for free and you can use them on the company website! (When really I'll make up the time by not doing much for the rest of the week).

4. And finally, you should hire me because I'd only take the job to pay for photography equipment and to supplement my income until I can do what I really love full-time; photography. Then I'll leave you on short notice and you'll realize that I didn't really do much anyway.

YES YES! Hire ME!

:-)

WARNING: pointless chatter ahead

i figure now is as good a time as any to talk about my dreams...i had mentioned once before a while ago but i dream about taking pictures all night...every night. does anyone else do this? my dreams also have theme music...then i wake up with that song in my head...its really quite annoying...i wish they made a pill where you didnt dream at all..i would surely take it...i feel like i didnt even go to sleep when i dream so much. i believe you only dream in the REM mode of your sleep, does that mean i am in REM mode all night or do i just feel like it?
ah well, i get some cool ideas anyway

Supposedly your sense of time is distorted while dreaming, so while it may seem like you've been dreaming all nught, it may have only been an hour or two.
Imagine what it would feel like if you really did dream all night!

I could think of a LOT of worse dreams. Supose you dream (in increasingly more horrific order):

5. You are digging ditches all night
4. You finally get that vacation to that little island paradise, right before it is taken over by a military coup
3. You are the point man in a mine sweeping operation
2. You are captured by insurgents in Iraq
1. You submit your best photo to DPC and get a 1.2 average.

;-)

Happens to me when I concentrate on something or researchging something. Once I needed tires for my car, so I kept dreaming about tire brands and sizes.

The cure for things like that is to engage yourself with something different. Take your mind off the pics.
And if I have a song that is playing in my head all day, and I have that song on CD, only thing I have to do is actually listen to that song, and it stops playing in my head.

And when I said nobody's voting, I did not mean go out and give low scores! Arghhhh!

From what I understand, you remember the dreams that you wake up during - which in my case, is all of them probably (I wake up constantly and don't sleep much!). I had a dream last night about a huge wave coming towards me and I wanted to photograph it, but realized at the last minute it was a tidal wave and all I could think of was protecting the camera!!! LOL

I've heard that the amount of time it takes you to verbally explain a dream is approximately the duration of the dream itself. Also, I learned in Psych class (29 years ago - Yikes!) what Kylie said - that you remember the ones you wake up during, or immediately after.

Hey no problem! And thanks for the comment! Yes it's my baby, picture taken 8/15/2004

Dreams are funny. When I am sick and have a fever, I always dream the same dream. And I was dreaming that dream since I was a kid. It always starts with any far away object, such as a house. Then it gets closer, and closer, and closer, then it crushes me.

Here's a thread that I started earlier in the week - it didn't get much response. Rather than bump it, I'll just let it sit there unless one of us underemployed wants to revive it.

It's a Challenge Suggestion that I thought could be fun.

I could think of one that I hate! My husband is a 2nd degree black belt and he dreams of fighting people, so I get woke up being kicked, hit, ect. He even did an elbow drop, down on the top on my nose once. OUCH!!! Needless to say I wish he'd stop dreaming. :)

Greetings all,
A slow day it may be, but it sure started out nice and white up here with the 1st measurable snow of the year in the valley, about 2 - 3 inches fell, and thankfully most of it has already melted away! First snow "storm" with the new cam, so these are'nt all that good, but I had to share the first snow!
Mike

Comments always appreciated!

I just got home from work myself -- it was SOOO slow all day. About 12:00 rolled around and I could have sworn it was time to go home already -- the rest of the day after that was just bad-tasting icing on the already terrible cake.
