I believe there is a Photoshop plug-in for NEF images. I think I heard that it is on your Nikon View CD????
I have a Nikon CP5700, but I forgot to bring my software and manual on a six month assignment away from home, so I can't confirm... can anyone else?

Check out a program called Bibble, it is a conversion program for NEF files to photoshop. It has a more user friendly interface and workes faster. You can download a trial version from BibbleLabs.com. , the trial version workes for 30 days with all features, but will continue to do the basic features indefinanately. |

Adobe Photoshop
Nikon View 5 contains a NEF plug-in for Adobe Photoshop, it is possible to apply adjustments to NEF files using the plug-in before opening the image into Photoshop. Images can be opened in Adobe Photoshop 5.0 or later (Photoshop LE excluded) and Photoshop Elements.
Hope this helps, Michael |

Hey I saw this concerning Photoshop 7 yesterday. New RAW plugin I have opened a couple RAW formats without it and it takes way long and has frozen my photoshop a couple times. This may work a little better and have some more features that without the plugin aren't there.
edit- OK I went and read a review on "Camera RAW" for Adobe and it sounds AWESOME. Very very cool stuff.

I just wanted to bump this to see if anyone is using this "Camera RAW" plugin and to see how it is. |

Jubei, I saw the same information about Camera Raw - but I have not tried it. For now I will use the Nikon programs to adjust the NEF files and then go to PS7. I like this so far, but I might try Camera Raw if this becomes a burden.
Morgan, thanks again for setting me in the right direction. |

Dennis, I'm sad. My Nikon software trial ran out for my RAW editor. No I have to decide weather to go with the Photoshop version or the Nikon one. I don't know yet. |
