I missed the challenge entry by 2 hours, sometimes being in Japan has its downfalls, it becomes THE NEXT DAY on my camera before the challenge has actually finished submitting, I was unlucky with this shot for BIZZARE NATURE but I would appreciate your comments ..

I think it might of done quite well.

It was called GIMMI A KISS

Would there be a problem sending a pic that was taken the day after the challenge closed? Seems impossible unless your in a diffrent time zone like you are.

I'd give it a 6, maybe a 7. Nice capture, but focus seems a bit off or could have been caused by bird moevements with slightly low shutter speed. Good bokeh in the background.

Hey Marac! That's a really nice photo and would have done well. Where did you take that?

You know that you can submit a photo here in Japan right up until the actual challenge deadline, even if the time/date on your camera is too late. I'm pretty sure the site council takes time difference into effect when checking photo validity.

Hey thanx beagleboy.. yes it was parrot movement they were fighting like crazy but this i used continuous shoot and this was the best i got.

Phill- hey buddy, this was taken at Chiba Zoo its really nice there i been 3 times if you go on a working day it is like a ghost town and you can get some great pictures of the animals, shall we go next free time you have, bring your friend too.

I did not realise i could submit a picture taken outside the date i thought that you simply have 1 week to submit so there is plenty of time to do it.. i dont know what the SC say about this, is there a thread about it anywhere?

All DPC cares about is their server time. That means that we, in Japan, can safely send in photos on our Monday 1:59pm for what seems like a deadline of DPC-server time of Sunday midnight.

I do that all the time.

edited to add: nice pic. I'd have given a 7.

True. It's the same for me in China.
I'd give it 6 or 7

this is true from previous threads; but also of interest is that since the SC take your local time into account when submitting, they must also take it into account regardless of where you are at the time. I'll see if I can find the thread I am thinking about; it concerned travelling and that the time on the camera must stay at your 'home' local time.

/edit: I was mistaken. It was just the opposite, the time of the camera should be the local time of the location the image was taken at. Here are a couple of threads; "Time Zone Difference" and "A timing question".

It's the server time that dictates when the deadline is for challenge submission. As long as your camera is accurate for your local time everything is fine. If your timezone is ET + 15 for example then your deadline is still midnight ET but your local time will be midnight + 15.

Did that make sense?
