As far as i understand it, it's a picture that is 1:1 (i.e lifesize) or (preferably) closer. So if you have a screen the size of a cinema, you could photograph a car! of course, you'd have to buy a cinema-sized screen for everyone else who is voting, so might turn out expensive.
just realised that this is the first open (basic editting) macro challenge since late 2002. should make some interesting veiwing...

Please note that the challenge description specifies "macro or close-up" -- please reserve some portion of your vote for composition and creativity and not just who has the greatest powers of magnification. |

Yes, please do. Some of us do not have cameras that have a macro feature and do not have 2 or 3 convenient lenses to string together. |

That is why I won't participate. I don't have any of them.

I don't have any macro lens either, but I am submitting relying on only the composition and creativity (?) of the shot :) |

thanks for mentioning this again because mine is one of the "close ups", taken in macro mode but not astonishingly close...i am a little worried about the some voters not catching that part, and it could hurt my precious avg... he he he :P

Doesn't quite look like it at the moment ... but then I didn't have an idea for a shot until about 5 minutes ago, so maybe there's another 70 or so folks like me. The prospect of voting on it is already starting to hurt ...

Well, probably one less by tonight . . . I think I will be pulling mine out! It was kind of hum-drum.

as long as my percentile is up on last entry :p not hard target but yeh :)
I must state this is another record - jeez where a bunch of record breakers on this site - congradulations_ maybe we should ring up guinness book of record - maybe the person who votes and comments on all of them are heading for a world record :p

*Big grin* I made it...........had already entered a shot, but wasn't even close to being macro. This is closer, even though it was just taken with the Sony. Had fun though finding something .....kept getting distracted with bugs!!

In the abstract, taking a photo of an eye seemed original. It really did. It doesn't any more, but it did. |
