I wish I could enter. I got the e-mail too, but it was already past midnight here - far too late to set up anything worthwhile.

Hey, I didn't get an email. Didn't see it until mid-afternoon.

Actually I'm not being very clear. I'm sure the e-mail was sent in good time. It's just that I don't get onto the internet much before midnight because our telephone costs are much more expensive during the daytime and I'm usually too busy to get online between 7.00pm and midnight.

Maybe I should still have a go at Indecision for my own use. I can always ask for opinions in the forums later if I come up with something good.

No e-mail. Just noticed it on the front page.

These challenge entries seem to depict 'Choices' instead of Indecision to me.

The image should show an inability to make a choice, not options from which to choose.

That's what my first reaction to the topic was as I said in this thread.

It's that fine line that makes the image fit well and be successful or not. Otherwise, where's the challenge?

mmm...bad decision, and I feel I am one of a handful that actually meets the challenge, ah well, fingers crossed.

Don't feel too bad. Maybe you'll even get the blue with that score! I've been handing out more ones and twos than ever in both Indecision and Bizarre Nature. I honestly can't imagine how someone could imagine some of these as meeting the challenge.

All I can say is that there are about 5 or 6 great images in Indecision, the rest are either average shots, or don't meet the challenge IMO. Still working on Bizarre Nature but I need a break. I was hoping to see more attention paid to the first word of the challenge topic on this one. It's not just 'Nature', people.

Just because it's a speed challenge doesn't give you the excuse to take your photo out of focus. :/

Haven't seen this many out of focus shots since I lost my glasses.

*nod* My main problem with both is the much worse than average quality of a lot of shots. Granted, for the 24 hr challenge it may be difficult to come up with an ideal shot, and what i have submitted is not quite what i envisioned too, but still... if the only thing you have is some blurry, out of focus something that makes no sense, perhaps not every challenge needs to be entered into.

I entered an absolutely awful photo which I'm disgusted with because I liked my October Free Study photo and it is doing much worse than I thought...so I thought perhaps a photo I don't like will do well in the Indecision challenge.

My theory isn't holding up...which is a good thing!

I'm at 4.1818....

A somewhat lower quality average is a given for any speed challenge. It may be impossible to get the ideal lighting, the weather could be unfavorable, etc. While I expect good photos, I take into consideration that this is a rush job.

Regarding the concept of indecision, it shouldn't surprise anyone to see images of "choice" or "waiting," as they are so closely related. I would be looking to see if the choice is obvious (in which case, why would there be any indecision?) or if waiting is the result of indecision.

I decided not to enter. I just had 1 hr to shoot, edit image and submit. I guess no indecision on my part.

I'm sure this doesn't account for every such photograph, but being out of focus can be intentional to emphasize the photographer's point. We're even allowed to use Gaussian Blur while editing! ;)

I for one am going easier on the voting in this challenge. It is extremely difficult to come up with an idea, set it up, and get an acceptable image along with every other obligation in life all within the 24 hour time limit. I know I wasn't 100% happy with my entry and wish I had the time to work out some bugs. I think everyone should lighten up a little on this challenge.
One other comment on the topic. Every other 24 hour challenge has usually had something to do with a holiday or an event that was occurring at the time. This challenge definitely seemed to be suggesting a theme associated with the USA presidential election so if I saw a picture that was obviously about making "choices" versus "indecision" I wasn't that picky. After all we are all here to have fun!

Everyone should be able to take a mulligan once every quarter and remove one photo after voting...mine is truly pathetic and is being voted upon accordingly!

Spoken like a true golfer! Yeah dpc mulligans, allowance of 3 per year that do not count toward your average score! Cool.
