Yes, canon flashes of 550ex and 420ex nature, what is the expected lifetime expectancy of these kinds of very nice flashes, i have purchased two of these units used and i am quite concerned now if these will die or become less effective now? are bulbs replaceable please?
over and out thank you kindly

I use a 550EX that's about 4 years old and has had tons of usage. No problems, really great, still as strong as ever.
It's the battery pack that I have issues with. They have a limited life span.

oh really yes? I was starting looking in for buying cpe2 battery packing for these kind of style flashes and now i am disappointing about buying this kind of item, what may i ask you is your problematic issue with this? It seems so simple with only 6AA batteries and plug i cannot see much problem with such easy setup yes? i'm sure it is my ignorance again!

I use two Quantum battery packs, I own one which I bought used and I borrow another from a friend.

The one I bought used, the store couldn't tell me how much use it had. But for half the price of a new one, I still bought it.
It works, and works well, better than AA batteries (and longer) but the recycling time can be slow (the time it takes to charge in between shots so that it is ready to fire again) and just doesn't last as long as it SHOULD if it were new.

Still, a good investment for $200 CND.

oh i see now i was thinking at the time you were speaking of the battery pack from canon then my error in acceptance!

cannot anyone else help on known life flashes for these types of flashes coming from the canon company? will not these flashes be able to change bulbs when they expire too? i am very troubled worried thank you!
