I spent many days and hours trying to decide exactly what to enter into the Free Study. I changed from voter-friendly images, to personal ones, to voter-friendly, etc. I ended up choosing a personal image which is scoring okay at a round 5.5. Since these photos have been sitting for almost a month without much feedback, I ask for your help in giving me some feedback on these. The choice for Free Study was a hard one, and in fact, I actually should have used my Poverty entry (you will see...lol) so please help me out by taking a look at these images that I will modestly place here.

This was taken off from a bridge on the campus of Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. :)

Wow! That's an amazing location. I'd be paying close attention to the light at that spot at different times of the day, then come back when the light is perfect and/or there's a little fog. Set the camera on a tripod and take a slow shot to smooth out the water, then enter it in an appropriate challenge and wait to claim your blue.

Thanks for the advice...unfortunately..it was visiting weekend as i was visiting my BROTHER there. I went through two gigs in two days there and my Implied Lines submission was from the campus as well. Next time I that I find myself up there, I am going to make sure that I spend a good amount of time there. A big problem with that location is this huge tree that sits right in front of the bridge. Almost comically, here is the original below...i spent a LONG time getting that tree out of the way :)

P.S. I didnt want to lug around my tri-pod the whole day so this was the slowest acceptable shutter speed that I could take. This is on my "to-do" list!

Wow, That's some serious cloning/ whatever the hell you did... The location is great, the picture pretty good, but erasing the tree, now that was well done.

Thanks...and I used the cloning tool in Photoshop Elements to do this. This is actually the third take of the cloning. If you look closely you can see the clone lines (i am in no way a PS "guru") but I was happy with the way this one came out. Thanks for the praise :)

Ok then... you need a tripod and a chainsaw. Make a note of it.

The first one with the caterpillar would have scored very well IMO.

Yea I'm starting to think any of those would have done better than the one I have in right now.
