Manfrotto 3021B Tripod?
I was looking at one today, I just wanted to get others opinions on it =)
How is it as far as being sturdy? And for Macro shots? I know the center column comes out and goes horizontal, so that rocks, how sturdy is it then?

Very.
The legs spider out if you will, letting you get insanely close to the ground or whatever you want. If you like heavy duty than this is the tripod. None of that lightweight stuff. :)

I have the 3021PRO with pistol grip head, best tripod I've owned, easy to adjust, light enough for short hikes, steady as a rock, even more so when you hang you camera bag from the hook in the center as a counter weight (like when it's windy). You can't go wrong. |

Yeah, both Adorama and B&H show it for $99 as well. Just had to look at it in the store first to make sure its what I wanted. |

That's the same one I have, it's great, you can switch it for left hand use, I'm right handed, but like to keep my right fingers on my shutter release and exposure lock, that way I can move around with my left hand. It flips up for verticle shots. |

I have that same head but it's rather difficult to use for panning. Once you squeeze the "trigger" it has complete freedom on the ball both vertical and horizonal. I suppose you could increase the tension but it still lacks a horizontal lock. I do love that head, though and it's really easy to use.
Ooops, I forgot to mention that I also have the 3011N tripod and love it. I know it's not the one you're considering but if it's anything like the 3011N, it will rock.
