does anyone know if the sigma 1.4 extender is any good ?

Interesting you should ask that. I just got a Sigma 1.4 for use with the 50-500 (there are never enough MMs). Took a while to figure out how to mount it on that particular lens - it seems necessary to extend the lens to about 150-500 before it will go on (and then lock the lens so it won't retract any further). Now, I have to go out and try it. I'll try to keep you posted.

And if anyone has had experience with it, I too will be interested in hearing about it.
