i'd never have XP on a workstation..
i only have it on my games rig.. i use 2K SP4 on my workstation..
remember that Photoshop will only see 2GB of RAM, and if you want your Windows OS (NT based only) to see more than 2GB then you'll have to do some Registry hax.. or use Enterprise Server :) |

I am also a linux geek and am using fedora core 2 atm. If you're fairly comfortable with learning new OSs then I would highly suggest it.
Oh ya did anyone mention its free =) |

I've got Win2k on several workstations - it's been my favorite of the Windows line. XP looks slicker, but in my subjective recollection I've had fewer problems with my 2k boxes.
If you are new to Linux then Mandrake might be a bit of a learning curve - but it's worth trying out - with 80 gig you should easily be able to set up a dual-boot situation. |
