I'm looking for a flash to equip my Nikon 70.
What is the difference between sb-600 and sb-800?
Are there any other flashes that I could get for the D70?
Any suggestions?
Edit: Oh, what is there to know about slave flashes?

If you go to B&H's site you can compare both models. Besides flash range there is around 100 USD difference after applicable rebates. You can compare both features and specifications. The SB800 can go to a -7 degrees while the SB600 does not. Both tilt to 90 and swivel 180.
I am not aware of another flash unit for the D70. I believe that the SB600 was designed specifically for the D70.....however I do not know that for sure. |

The SB-600 and SB-800 are the only two that will support the iTTL metering of the D70. I personally have both flash. I bought the 800 when I got the D70 and just ordered the 600 last night.
The 800 can be used as the master flash to control multiple remote flash (although the D70 has this feature built in). There's a couple other little things, as well.

the 600 is newer too, and the d70 kits come with it bundled nowadays, afaik. i got one and i love it, works for all my needs. Except i'm thinking about getting another one. |

No question that you should get only the SB-600 or 800. If you can afford it, get the 800. I have seen pics with it on a D70 and it makes me very envious.

Thanks for all the info!
All right... So I'm going to get the SB-600.
My last question is: Is there a plug-to-the-wall alternative for powering the flash? And how many flashes can you use on one set of batteries? |
