I've looked, but... I can't find the disposable camera hack thread.
I remember someone saying that he had hacked a disposable camera in order to be able to reuse it. I'm trying to help a friend who plans to dismantle one to hook up to a gun sight so when he shoots the gun it will also shoot a picture. (No illegal activities planned by this computer geek, I promise.)
Any help finding the thread and/or information (or speculation) on how to creatively use disposables would be most welcome.

I think it was about hacking a one time use digital camera for EXIF info. |

I thought that one-time-use digital cameras were actually film cameras that the vendor processed (scanned) to produce digital images.
If they really are digital, then there may be many uses if the firmware can be hacked! |

That would make more sence but there are digital disposable cameras out there. //www.dpreview.com/news/0307/03073101dakotadigital.asp |

Thank you all for your responses so far!
My friend is a talented geek and doesn't shy away from a good challenge. As for image quality, that isn't really a concern--he just wants to be able to do it. (Sort of like climbing the mountain because it's there.)
I was sure someone here claimed he could configure a download and wipe the card for re-use....

Some of the people on the dpreview forums have tried cracking them but I don't think they have had much success. |

Thank you all! This is a great start! I'll try to remember to let you know how FrankenPhoto makes out with his creation.
Additional suggestions are still welcome. |
