This is mi entry on the communication challenge

it scored very bad, worse than I ever imagined. As for the comments I got, because it has been seen as not meeting the challenge.

For all those who didn't saw how the pic meet the communication challenge let me argue that before celular phones existed, even before mail, tin cans, cars, ethernet, the Internet... you name it existed, boats have been "used to convey passing ideas or information from one person or group to another person or group" for centuries.

Did anyone ever heard about a ship called Mayflower? ;-)

Besides that, i'd like some comments on the pic itself, please.

It looks fine to me, good sharpness in the detail, lots of color, and very pleasing depth of field. Probaly would have scored a lot higher if it were in a challenge where it fit the topic closely, something like Sailing Ships.

I think quite a good foto, and superior composition.... unfortunately connecting the link to the archaic form of communication that the sail boat represents requires a knowledge of history and an ability to place your detail of a ship in that kind of historical perspective. Obviously too many steps for general voters. I thought it an excellent entry and had you been able to take a picture of a ship crashing into a lighthouse voters might have been able to make the connection.
