Ok, I take the blame for not "communicating". With 24 threes, 9 twos, and 2 one's, I guess this was taken as off-topic.

The communication in my photo wasn't the canon or soldier. It was the church. Shame on me for composing that as a background.

This was originally entitled: Religious communication, persuasive force, but I thought the picture spoke for itself, and I was wrong.

My first 4 in a while (though I barely skimmed 5 in the parts challenge.

I'd be happy to hear peoples thoughts any way.

I gave you a 7, I thought it was an interesting photo, great use of DOF, and well composed. I withheld higher scores, not completely feeling taken away by the image, I got the communication by forcive persuasion, I thought it was an intelligent and origional take on the challenge.

Btw, nshapiro, i gave you a 6 too, mostly for the same reasons livingfiction described. 6 is higher than the average 5.

I didn't get to this photo.. (ran out of time).. but it would have definitely been a 7 from me.

Shapiro, I didn't get to your image either.. but probably a 6. I don't really get the connection without your explanation, but it's a nice photo, and war, to me, communicates hatred, at least.

Hey Neil: I understood it as the persuasion between war and peace. But hey, you beat me. Check mine on a similar thread.lol

Shapiro, I believe I gave your photo a 5. Honestly, I didn't get the message about the church at all. But, as graphicfunk said, your entry did better than mine, so plenty of misunderstanding and failed communication to go around! :)

this is a great 'photojournalistic' image, but I didnt think it fit this challenge well enough to get more than a 6, which is what I gave it... sorry. I think it would score much higher in a challenge more fitting, like say War or Peace or Hope or something..

I gave it a 6 too, which is my way of scoring a well-shot image, but not compelling enough to revote. I voted just based on the 'persuasive communication' part, especially relevant in the post iraq world order.. didnt even notice the church in the background (wouldnt have cared even if I did).

To be honest when I first looked at the image just now I didn't really make the connection with the church and statue. I think it had a good amount of impact, but perhaps not as strong as you intended. Or maybe I'm just dozy. ;-)

I gave it a 5...I totally missed the point as well. I thought the communication was the soldier's 'battle cry' or whatever...
