Hi I am going to Washington DC the first weekend of Dec. for my birthday so I was wondering if there is any one who would want to meet for one night to do some shooting maybe show me some places for some nice shots.

Also do I have to get a permit to take photos there.

Permits depend on where you shoot, most monuments are fine. Some places don't let you shoot with a tripod, like the Capitol grounds. It's a bad idea to shoot government buildings cause you will most likly get harassed by security and asked why you are photographing a building.
I think Blemt or ClubJuggle might know more about the permit thing from the first DC shoot.

I might be available for shooting that weekend, but not sure right now
