I don't know how much people agree with me..But I think the current challenge score should be hidden from the photographer until the end.

It makes sense to me to do it this way, because it might be an influental factor in people's voting. If someone submits what they think is a good photo but their average is like a 4.458 they might give others lower scores in an attempt to be higher in the rankings.

Anyone else think this might happen?

I agree wholeheartedly..It's human nature to want to look better and the way it is now would elimate the temptation.

It wouldn't make much difference at all. With over 200 people voting one person's score won't change the average drastically. Besides, the system is set up to dump scores by people voting everyone too low. I would hope that most of us can be trusted to disregard our own photos when we make voting decisions on other people's work.

My own opinion is that too much secrecy is not a good thing. I for one want to know how my photos are being judged during the week. Even if I average about 5, that doesn't tell me a thing about everyone else's scores.

This is an interesting perspective, I had pondered this same thought several weeks ago. What I had concluded after just a quick glance is just the opposite of the scenario. It seems that the photographers who typically display the highest averages for their entries are also showing the highest averages in the way they score other photographs. Please correct me if you find this to be inacurate.

Oh, BTW, most people don't go to the races only to view the final score.

I admit, if my score is lower than it seems to be, i may score other pictures lower, just cause I'm in a bad mood. Of course, if I had a bad day at work, I may score them lower, or if I am in a bad mood, I may score them lower. Or if I am really wanting chocolate, I may score them lower. HOWEVER (YOU MUST KEEP READING OR YOU WILL MISINTERPRET WHAT I AM SAYING)

that is why I go back through the pictures and view them all again. Several stay the same, but most go up a point or two. Very seldom will I change a score lower. I try to do this a couple of times at least to try and make sure my "mood" doesn't effect the scores I give.
If I only had time to view one time, I can promise that I would be very cautious about my mood affecting my vote.

Also, remember, my vote (and yours, and yours, and yours) is just one of 200, 250, or 300.
