This is just a head's up for everyone on the site to make sure your date is set properly in your camera. I currently came in 4th place in the parts challenge, but my image was disqualified because the date in my camera was behind my a month. Seeing as it's a new camera, I should have checked it but I didn't. It isn't the site council's fault at all, they really had no choice but to DQ it. It was my fault completely , and it kind of bums me out... I was really happy with a 4th place finish. So for everyone out there entering these challenges, make sure you check the date in your cameras. :)

What a pity... It happened to me too, but I've noticed that looking at the EXIF date and I didn't submit that time. Good you bring it to the public. It's an important warning for all of us. And your picture was great, I remember it very well.

It's unfortunate that we had to DQ you, but we have enforce the rules in this respect. However, there's nothing stopping you from reposting the image into your portfolio, so that others can see it again.

DQing isn't especially fun for the SC either but it's awesome when people are a good sport about it. Thanks Daninbc!

I just checked my entry into the October free challenge, and the date is wrong on it as well so I unsubmitted it. At least I can re-shoot that one :)

Tuff break daninbc. However it is refreshing to see someone take responsibility for there own mistake. So many in the past have whined and sought to cast the blame anywhere but on themselves when in the same situation. Good Luck in the next challenge.

You really are a true winner - like everyone has commented - you really took an unfortunate loss to your self and did it with dignity and graciousness. Not enough people take repsonsibility for their own actions. I am one of the ones who placed more impressively due to your loss, and for that I am sad. But thank you for the wonderful attitude and knowing that we know what a great photogrpaher you are regardless!

yeah, I realised that my camera was set to 1980 after my entry for the defining features...but I'm in the middle of the pack so it won't matter much. too bad about your shot.

Even though I was DQ'ed, I am still satisfied knowing that my shot was good enough to place 4th. :) I would really like to say thank you for all of your great comments, it's people like you that make me proud to be a member of dpchallenge.
