oh and as an added feature...
starting now i am now going to put my rating right into the comment and explain why. i think its more useful to the photographer.

| I have to admit that I really cut back on my comments after I got a really confusing and rude PM after a comment. I felt almost violated..like the person just had to vent at me becuase they had a bad day.... |

| I have only commented on 17 so far. I̢۪m still going back and bumping up scores and bumping down scores. There are so many entries this time looks like the comments are going to be few and far between. I̢۪m only commented on my low scores and high scores so far. |

| Only 2 so far, and I haven't voted on all of them yet. I've gotten a few PM's from people who didn't care for my comments, but most aren't rude. Just don't let a few bad apples ruin the bunch. I also have taken to adding IMO to all my comments to remind the photographer that I'm just giving one opinion and that I don't rule in the world of photography (not by a long shot). I don't always say what my vote was exactly, just low (1-3), average (4-6), above average (7-9), or my favorites for the round (10). If I vote low I will give you my reason (lame or otherwise) for voting low, as requested by the site voting instructions. |

| Yep...After a bit of a spiral on the first day my score has been incredibly constant...up until now that is. |

Hey, I would encourage you and everyone to keep commenting. I have been on both ends of this, receiving odd PMs as well as sending PMs when the commenter seems not to realize something about the photo I submitted. I never write to offend anyone, but sometimes the most well intentioned comment can go awry. I think you have to take all comments with a grain of salt, both good and bad.
This medium, of commenting and PMs, is prone to misinterpretation. But, I think that 90%+ of the commenters are trying to be helpful and insightful. Don't let a couple bad eggs ruin it all.
BTW, I sat out scoring "Parts" because I wanted a break. I did comment on all of the Masters photos and as a general rule try to comment on 10%-20% of the photos. |
