overall its a nice photo :D so congratulations on that
ways to improve it - possibly a tighter crop focusing only on one flower ( logiv for that is the pavement lines are rather distracting so a crop would remove that )
secondly you might want to consider a tad sharper focus especially when it comes to the centre of the flower and this may be improved with additional lighting
however aside from those 2 minor points which are easily fixed i really like this photo and congratulate you on a gr8 find of the type of flower as well!

The bottom one is definitely the best. My only criticism would be that there isn't much detail in the petals of the flowers. This is going to be a tricky one to correct. The best way to correct it would be to re-shoot with a slightly lower exposure value (if your camera lets you knock the exposure value down) perhaps 1/3 or 1/2 an EV. Once you have that extra detail in the petals then you can head into a graphics package to tweak the overall picture for brightness and contrast.
As it stands now it's a lovely photo but it's a little flat. That extra detail will help it pop off the screen more - give it more depth.
I hope that helps.

David, my opinion is that your latest shot is the best by far. The lighting in this shot is a lot more interesting and creates more texture and depth. Somehow this adds more life to the image. I would suggest that you could play with the curves a bit in Photoshop or similar to bring the white in the flowers up a bit more so that they command a bit more of the attention. This may "blow out" the background a bit if you do it overall. You may or may not like this effect.
This last image has a lot more for you to work with. The composition is good. I would have tried it with the flowers a littl to the left and down to eliminate some of the bright leaves from the scene. This would place the flowers off centre. Just a suggestion for an alternative. Your current cropping works also. |

Personally I think its excellent. The blown out background, as I mentioned before, is something that some people would like and some would hate. I think it stylizes the image whereas others would prefer the more natural look. Nice work. :) |

I lke the shot, its crisp and well exposed but my proble is my eye goes to the dark area of the background. Version 2 is a winner. |

No doubt the new shot is better but there is still a lack of detail on the petals. It looks like the flower head is in shade while the leaves behind are in sunlight. I'd like to see that shot with the flowers themselves in sunight. This will make it trickier to get the exposure right without over exposing the white of the petals. But if you get it right it's going to look stellar.

Nice... But I think it needed some fill flash to bring out the detail in the petals. Everything else is great especially the background.
