Thanks again for all your comments. Its very interesting to read the diversity of opinions. The first picture was for the most part seeing, aiming and shooting. The second picture took alot more work, thought and planning. I will remember both equally though. |

The first picture is just a boring sunset shot. Nothing interesting about it at all. Can't see why people think so. The second picture is much better. |

I would agree with arnit's first & second sentences and the third sentence with 'much' taken out of it. |

First of all I need to tell you that I'm sorry for my comment. I was just very surprized to see someone in the masters challenge that had no creative thinking of his own, because I remebered this image:
But afterwards, knowing that you were just developing your own idea I think you did a great job.
But I like number one better :) |

I was disappointed at the choice to use a picture from a previous challenge. Yes you did develope the theme, but it's the same thing only multiplied by 3. Sorry. I was going to keep this to myself, but the question was presented by the photographer.
Edit. I didn't vote on the master's challenge so my disappointment is not reflected in the score, but maybe some others might have felt the same way?

I much prefer the abstract qualities of the second image. Would make a very interesting print.

Thanks for your comment. Yes, I had considered whether a variation of a previous theme I had used would be appropriate for the Master's Challenge. But many people had submitted landscape pictures or pictures of birds who I am sure have done similar types of pictures in the past. I felt this gave me the opportunity to study and improve on an idea I had that I felt I could do better. Needless to say, I still feel there is room for improvement.
