Just got Digital Rebal with lens kit (18-55 f3.5-5.6) a couple of weeks ago. Since then, I've picked up the 50 f1.8 II and the 28-105 f3.5-4.5. Right now I'm thinking about returning the 28-105 for the 70-200 f4 L. I know it's a far better lens, however I'm not sure I want to lose some of the range I have with the 28-105 and have to depend on the lens kit.
Is this a good move and what would you suggest a pair with it until such time I could add the 17-40 f4 L or something equivalent??
Thanks for the input. |

go for it , have this lens (70-200 F4)and it's stunning - plus it's white with a red line ;-)

I have all four of those lenses. The 28-105 is on my camera most of the time. The 70-200 is great outdoors (and MUCH better glass), but just isn't wide enough for practical use indoors. It's also unwieldy for a general-purpose lens. If you're not happy with the 28-105, I'd look at Canon's new EF-S 17-85mm IS lens or maybe the Tamron 28-85 XR Di. |

Go for it, for now you can use your 50mm and walk back and forth rather than zooming to cover the missing ranges. The kit lens, although no prime or "L", should get the job done too... I've got a 17-40mm on the way, should be a nice lens. |
