Yesterday was stupidly hot here in Brisbane, and I was stuck in our family room - the only air-conditioned place in the house.
To amuse myself indoors, I decided to play around with some stereoscopic images.
I also wanted to view the ones on DPC, but all I found in the stereo gallery were some examples from GeneralE...... nothing else!!!!
So I decided to add mine, too :-)
Mine are the cross-eyed viewing types. In case you're new to viewing these, here is a "how-to".
It took me a while to learn the technique at first, but then it got very easy to view them.
If you have any of your own, please add them to the gallery so I can find them easily...... I love looking at them.

I added three (very old ones) of mine. Two were already on DPC, but pre-dated the Galleries feature, and the third I dug out of the dusty history of my hard drive. |

Thanks, Fritz. Three more to look at :-) Seems that I had already enjoyed those two existing ones previously, but loved coming back to them again.
Given the speed a plane travels, you need to get those photos in quick succession, right? I once read someone mentioning "a couple of seconds" in between shots through a plane window and thought that surely that's too long.
I'm loving the new one, too..... Wilson Arch goes from nice to wow in a cross eyed instance :-)
I guess I should add a link to the stereo pairs gallery here, to make it easier. |

Though it seems like way too long, a couple seconds can actually work. It produces an artificially exaggerated 3D effect. The two of mine that were shot from airliners were shot with the Nikon 995, and believe me I was lucky to get a shot a second with that camera. I'd guess the separation in time on those was about a second or so.

That Wilson Arch shot did work out really well. Again a bit of an exaggerated baseline; if I recall correctly about 2 feet or so, a single step sideways. I'd love to get a redux on that one with better equipment, better light, and a better eye, LOL! |
