i'm trying to figure out why sometimes I get like 300 views and 100 votes.. and other times its close to 1 to 1 ratio.

how does one look at a challenge entry without voting to get to the next one? do they just use the 'back' button? is it really that hard to grade these shots?

personally, i start from the top and work my way through one by one.. if they took the shot, they deserve a grade or a comment.

while i'm at it, how does a forum manage 1700 views and 70 replies? lol

I'd guess that members challenges usually get higher view to vote ratios because non-members can't vote on them.

Yep. Formula of that pattern only a man can tell. :)
But the post from kavey explains it.

Usually after voting on all photos, I go back through my favorites and look at them again and analyze what I like about them, so I may view one photo up to ten times sometimes. I guess that explains some of it.
