I am sooo excited!
I just finished my first time lapse.. It is not perfect by any means, but I had a lot of fun putting it together. No music to this, but it gave me a taste of what to do better next time.
This is of the eclipse/blood moon from Sept..
This is the link from my FB page, so hopefully it will work with this link
It is funny how much happens when your down and out from a surgery, but things are healing just fine and almost back to myself :-D
My daughter helped take photos of the blood moon.
2015 Eclipse/BloodMoon
I look forward into doing more time lapses..
I put this together in lightroom 4.

Thanks for that, certainly not your standard time lapse but why stick to convention. |

Some good shots in it. I wonder if that might be more of a slideshow? Not that slideshows are bad, but my idea of a time-lapse is usually a stationary camera angle and things in the frame move, or a moving camera that follows a path (hard to do without expensive equipment)
According to a couple results on Google, your K-3 has a built in intervalometer, not sure if you used it but that will let you run time-lapse sequences without having to touch the camera once it starts.
I have fun with them, I am using a program called Time Lapse Assembler. Might be on windows as well, but I use mac OS right now. Lightroom is great because it lets you sync the settings if you shoot them in RAW (or even JPG tweaking some stuff) |

I have that feature too, but it doesn't help with an astronomical shot like the Moon unless you have a camera mount to track it. Otherwise, you pretty much have to line up the images, and export to new (aligned) images before assembling into either a time-lapse video or slide show. I did that with my "Transit of Venus" time-lapses ...

No, I did not use my built in time lapse.. I forgot to totally look at the manual to set that up, instead I have set up on my free phone app called camera remote, it does have interval timing on it as well and those were set up for 10 minutes apart. I think I may have had it set up for toooo long. Plus I was not able to use all of the photos because the photo just did not turn out because of the clouds. This free app takes care of all major brands of DLSR cameras.. is a totally new area I am trying to explore at this time because it fascinates me.
I will have to look into that program because I do plan on doing this quite often. Lightroom gave me a great option because I found it quick and very easy to do.
I am ok with calling it a "slide show" as well doesn't hurt my feelings none. I was just happy I could put something together like that LOL!
I do use windows. Getting things super lined up like that moon was not easy at all. I do plan on doing another time lapse this weekend as well so I will try that set up in the camera. I am trying to debate how many minutes to be setting it for. I am thinking about 5 minutes or so.. I plan on doing a sunset with it.
I also just brought myself a new toy tripod Oben AC-1361 that has been super durable for me during that too esp with the wind blowing.
Those venus photos are really cool!!!!

So, I tried it again, I think it really helped having my tripod really weighted down, I didn't have a bottle but I used my heavy camera bag instead, seemed to hold it really well this time.
This was tonight's sunset
time lapse try 2
I also used my camera's time interval as well. I had it set as 45 seconds with 5 pictures.
Now, I have to figure out an easy to get the editing part and getting them all the same. The issue I am having is that when I edit in lightroom, all my current edits go towards the last and end slides and they will not allow me to move them back in line where I had it. I usually edit in lightroom. In photoshop, I tried to stack it with the open and script and export it as such, same error, so I can not use photoshop for some strange reason.
