Would it be feasible to scale challenge results after voting had ended much like the way grades are sometimes scaled for exams? So that the person who comes first will get a 10, and the person who comes last will get a 1.

Would mean that the whole scale is used.

This is kind of like the percentile score. 100% = first, 0% = last.

Divide your percentile by ten and you've got a normalised 0-10 grade. :-)

The percentile is simply representative of equal rank distribution (every score differs by the same amount). I presume the OP meant to rescale the curve (redestributing the scores) along the vote axis.
