This is (sort of) my stamping grounds, since Monterey is only about 100 miles south of San Francisco.
I'm down there all the time because of the wonderful marine life and scenery.
PBS, along with the BBC is doing a splendid 3-day(night) series on the Bay, its whales and its other marine life.
Last night was the first of three consecutive programs (airing in my time zone PDT) at 8:00pm.
They are doing a splendid job and excellent photography is yours for the looking.
I'm just back from a drive to Moss Landing (Just above Monterey) with some fun pictures and will probably post
some soon.
This is a heads up for an excellentPBS program. If y ou missed the first, y ou still have two nights to go.
Depending on your time zone, Day-two might be on pretty soon. Check it out.

There are actually two live broadcasts each day -- one at 5 PDT/8 EDT and another at 8 PDT.
In the Bay Area you can see the former on Channel 9.2 (KQED+) and the later on Channel 9.1 ...

However you get there, and by whatever TV station, do watch this fascinating series. It is splendid.
Should I remember to say that some of the coverage is live? Other coverage is within the day.
Here is one of my all-time favorite photographs (I know, it scored badly on DPC, but what the heck)

| Catching the show on TV. All I could think about was how I needed to be there now, swimming with the wales. First I need to get scuba certified but hey. It's a bucket list thing. |
