I'm trying to choose between
Sigma AF 70-300mm f/4-5.6 APO Zoom Macro Super II Lens EOS
and
Tamron AF70-300mm 4-5.6 LD 1:2 Macro Zoom Lens EOS.. I couldn't find a uniform opinion on which was better.
Wondering if anyone owns either or both of these, and has recommendations or suggestions?
Thanks!!

i have the tamron...i love it!..one thing that bothers me is that @ 300 when handheld it blurs a bit.

Other than that i haven't found anything wrong with it.

I also have the Tamron and am extremely happy with it. I have gotten great pictures from this glass. It's compact, light and an excellent value for under $200. I don't know anything about the Sigma, sorry.

I have that Sigma Lense, labeled under the "Quantaray" In-House brand from Ritz Camera. It's a good lense for a variety of situations.

I haven't been extremely impressed with far off objects, but I have also had the misfortune of shooting under some fairly humid conditions when attempting to capture long distance objects.

All in all, I still recommend this lense, check out my portfolio, my galleries 'Flowers', 'Macro' and a few of the 'Mackinac Island' images have some images I shot with that lense. Below are a few of the images I took with that lense...
