I need hire someone (much more talented than myself) for a small job locally (Virginia Beach, VA) ASAp. The job would be an hour or two of food photography for a local restaurant. I'm hoping for one of two things with this post.

1. Any takers? Know someone you can refer? Please send portfolio to the email in my profile.

2. Anyone know of a good site for posting this description? Maybe something like rent-a-coder... but photographers?

Thanks in advance!

food photo...is a very complex job.

I am very experience in food photography but I am too far away. The complication involved is simple: Food is very difficult because the colors are paramount. Required is a photograpger who has a monitor well calibrated and then to learn the final reproduction of the pictures. If they will be used as transparancies it is best to shoot them on film. If for print then, the photograpger should be familiar with four color process. The secret is to shoot with knowledge of the color temperature because when making adjustments it becomes a nightmare as you shift here and lose there in color values. The best is a medium format.

Graphicfunk, I've done some digital shots that were then processed for Duratran transparencies (for light boxes)...they seemd to be fine for my client.. why would it have been better on film?

I'm not too far from there and have done some food work. What is the final use?

The final use will be at least web, though I've had at least one offer of just a half-day rate where we get everything shot and do all proofing / color-correction ourselves. It's tough to be looking for less than that since I have that offer, but I'm still definitely open.
