To me what rates a 5 in this challenge also rates a 5 in other challenges. To each their own.
As an analogy, in a class of geniuses would someone who scored 90% be failed just because his peers all scored higher?
Just an observation, not an attack or attempt to change anyone's voting style.

As long as you vote consistently, whether across challenges or within any particular challenge, it shouldn't matter. I try to vote consistently across challenges, meaning, if the photo is well composed, in focus, uses depth of field to good effect, has few artifacts (specks, noise, etc.), meets the challenge, has wow factor, etc. then I'll give it something between a 6 and a 10. So, in the Master's challenge all the "students" pass--why would I fail some (giving 5 and below) when everyone succeeded?
(The only difference I make between challenges is between basic and member, where I take into consideration the ability to perform certain editing.) |

I try to keep my voting consistent across challenges and as you stated that's the main thing. The more challenges I participate/vote/comment on the better I get at doing this.

Master's Score Given: 6.14
Average Score Given: 5.25
I had a hard time deciding between some 5's and some 6's. I forced myself to give a single 10, but there were 5 shots that were so close it was very difficult.
An interesting thread might be to each post our top 5 picks after the challenge is over. It will be interesting to see how many people get the top 3 right.
