A friend has the Z3 and is happy with it. However, she has been hearing and reading a lot about its 'noise' and its poor printing performance. She has been told that it is not possible to print larger than 6"x4" without a loss of quality.
I find this difficult to believe given that it is a 4mp camera with a top resolution of approx. 2200x1700.
Anybody got any views on this?
Thanks

I've got razor sharp prints from my 3MP Optio S at 10x8. However, I did carry out work in PS... they would have looked dreadful straight from the camera. |

I have a 3MPix Olympus C740 and did prints with just some basic post processing (simple adjustments) as big as 20x30cm which is 8"x12".
I can't see any reasons why a newer camera with better resolution and an image stabilization would give worse results than mine.
And I only have a Canon330 photo printer which is also no top range stuff.
With 2200x1700 pixels and 12"x8" it should print at 183dpi which gives quite nice effect (correct me if I'm wrong but the minimum for clear pictures is said to be 150dpi while 300dpi is the considered to be very good).
Just print on a photo paper.
I would say in this case it is the printer and paper that make the photo good/bad not the camera (especially a 4MPix one)
