Thanks everyone for your votes and comments,
I'm surprised no-one else has taken photos in the Royal Armouries, it's an incredibly photogenic place.
I've just started a City and Guilds photography course for fun, I have to take photos with b&w 35mm film, and I wanted to impress the tutor, so I thought I'd head over to the armouries (it's really nearby) and snap some shots (wow, the negatives look great... the DETAIL! I forgot how much detail there is in film!). Of course, my digital came with me as well! Silly me, I forgot my tripod though, and my other half was in an impatient mood, so I didn't take a lot of shots. We did watch some jousting though... but unfortunately cameras weren't allowed. Anyway, here's some other shots of the interior of the building... this is just the entrance, there are loads of other rooms with great displays... lots of it came from the Tower of London when the Armouries was opened to the public.

Great shot, congrats on the ribbon :) I tried taking a shot up there too during the summer but I didn't have a lens wide enough to get it all in! I processed it a bit differently too. I didnt want to carry my tripod around so I just put the camera down on the plaque at the bottom, pointed it up, and hoped :P I find it strange that you can take photos inside of the still exhibits, but not outside of the shows.

Wow, you like your grain!
The first shot I took of the Hall of Steel, I'd only just got my FZ10, and I was so chuffed at how sharp the shot was at 1/30 thanks to the Image Stabilising.

I thought I recognised the location! It's been a few years since I last went to the Leeds Armoury (back in BC - before camera), but it'd be a great location for photos... hmm... maybe I should visit again :o)
