I've started getting an annoying message (CS6) when I try to save a file.
After doing some minor tweaks to a raw file, I've reduced the image size then tried to save as a jpg. Then PS says
Could not save a copy as [file name] because
Yes. Just because.
It's now my mom. |

Do you run Windows? When I'm using Photoshop heavily, I have to use Disk Cleanup every so often to get rid of temporary files. I blame Adobe, although I can't be sure. I had similar errors last week until I cleared up a ton of space doing that. |

I've tried saving as a psd, jpg, sfw. It creates a placeholder but doesn't complete the operation. Have run diagnostic software, restarted, closed PS and reopened...
It just won't save "because" with no reason or code included.... |

I suspect you did an unitentional upgrade to Version CS6.neener.neener.
Any minute now you should be seeing promos for CC in your inbox that reads, "Time to upgrade, BECAUSE!"
[cue maniacal laughter]. |

LOL!!!
Actually, I believe I solved the mystery. The drive I was saving too seems to be almost full. I tried saving to another drive and there was no problem. But it used to tell me that the disk was full. Now it's just
BECAUSE
Maybe there wasn't enough room for the rest of the message... |

Fix 1:
First try to save as other files. If other files are saved as perfect, then there are problems in only one file (many times if you use large files in your photo then also program error arise).
Fix 2:
If a program error happens/occurs in all files, then go to Edit → Preferences → Camera Raw and in JPEG and TIFF Handling pane change TIFF option to Disable TIFF support. After changes, now restart Photoshop and try to save as, if a program error continues to show then follow Fix 3.
Fix 3:
Go to Edit -> Preferences -> Type and in Choose Text Engine Options pane change East Asians to Middle Easterns. That̢۪s it, now restart Photoshop and try to save your file, if still program error occurs then follow Fix 4.
Fix 4:
Go to Layer -> Vector Mask -> Hide All then, save your files. This trick is working for many Windows users.

If this is a DPL image I'm sorry I can't help you...
If it is NOT then try saving it to a different location instead of where you are trying to save it. If it still doesn't work make sure you have enough RAM and disk space to save it. You might need to adjust your memory settings. |
