So I have Elements 11 on my computer but I want to see if I can get rid of everything from my computer and start again but I am afraid I won't be able to get my photoshop back if I do that...

I know it's a silly question but I'm not all that tech savvy when it comes to this kind of stuff...

If you have the original install disk and a valid serial number, it won't be a problem. If you don't have an install disk, You can go here to download a copy directly from Adobe. But you still need a valid serial number to install and activate it.

Don't have a record of the serial number/product key of the installed Elements 11? Before you do anything else, go here and download a free "keyfinder" utility and run it; that will extract all the product keys on the machine. Then, of course, save the results to a thumb drive or something before you wipe the disk...

Good luck.

I guess now the question is... Is it really worth it? I rarely use my computer for anything other than editing... It's just so slow so I use my tablet for anything other than editing. Maybe I can get a friend of mine to do it for me if I buy him Chipotle... ;)

I just don't want to mess up and then have to go out and repurchase the damn thing... And I have a strong feeling that I will mess up... Lol.

I have moved my licence for CS2 and PS5 across something like 5 computers over the years. It is a PITA to deal with Adode to get the number to validate a new install, but they will do it if you just push hard enough and be polite and patient. You bought the product. It is yours. They want you to upgrade or buy their product on subscription (the cloud model they sell now), but they do not have the legal right to invalidate your licence because they want to.

When they say "Oh we don't support that anymore." ask for a supervisor. They will, they have to. They just don't wish to.

While I'm also a CS6 stallwart, the "Photographer's Edition" of creative cloud is only $10/month. That's really not bad for all the latest Photoshop features.

At that price, you could skip Chipotle 1.5 days a month and you'd be set. Just don't think about the barbacoa or guac... mmm, barbacoa and guac.
