Here is a quote from Danny "crabappl3" from his winning photo:

"Did a little spot editing to remove some garbage, and a light NeatImage, crop and UMS."

And here is a quote from the rules...

"Spot-Editing: Absolutely no spot-editing is allowed. The use of any type of selection tool is prohibited except to select a non-feathered, non-anti-aliased rectangular area for cropping."

Just a heads up. It's a great photo, hek I even gave it a 9! But spot editting is a no no. :-)

I leave it in the Admins' hands.

That rule did not apply to that challenge. It was deliberate.

Don't feel bad -- I forgot during the voting more than once and had to retype some comments.

No worries! I too play by the rules, so I would have questioned it too.

Sorry, i am french and don't always understand terms.
What is exactly 'spot editing' ? cropping ? working on colors , light or contrast of a selected zone ? something else ?
Thank you for your answer.

spot editing = selecting a portion of the photo in which to enhance

cropping = selecting an area of a photo for finalization, usually to eliminate unwanted areas outside that area.

colors, brightness and contrast can all be adjusted when applied to the entire photo. Selecting a portion of the final photo to adjust would again be spot editing.
