I'll start the post-challenge outtake ball rolling with my Square Outtakes.

I have to say I was stunned by my score, and even more so by the placing. All I was looking for was a score over 5, so that the four pictures on my profile page were all over 5.

All are great but I think you chose the best one. I really loved the shot you submitted (Absent Squares).

Thanks!

I wasn't all that keen on Absent Squares ... but that just shows how much I know! Well done anyway : )
Now, the 'covers' shots I do like, much more to my taste.

To see how carried away I got with my square entry go here.

And for those who hadn't seen the technique before (a few judging by the comments) check out John Setzler's excellent Howto. I simply used a syringe to size & place the water drops in patterns.

Is it Fuji miracle or the user?

In voting I give my top three choices 9s, usually because they are high quality images and they appeal to me personally just a tad bit more than an 8. I gave yours an 8.

You deserve your placing.

Judging photography is subjective and you never know how yours will be received.

The other images you you took but did not submit for the challenge are great shots. Like so many other photographers at this site, you have a great eye for photography.

This was my alternate for last week: Reagent Rainbow but I knew it would get killed in the voting. It was adapted from this original.

I actually like the original but it needs a 180 twist.

I quite like the original too but would have liked a much tighter crop to emphasise the squares.
And yes, the modified version would have got murdered!
