I started this thread was after reading this current thread. It seems that people think studio setup shots win challenges a lot and I agree with them. But at the same time I believe they win because they are very good photographs. Could any of the professionals or amateurs that know about studio setup and equipment give us amateurs on a limited budget advice? Generic equipment and material to keep around that we could use on different challenges. Such as:
· What kind of backdrop, colors, and what material.
· Cheep lighting [if that’s possible].
· Drop clothes what kind and colors.
· Etc.
If any of you can offer advice it would help some of us amateurs make a simple studio setup that we can use over and over when a studio shot is appropriate. I would be grateful for any suggestions. Thanks in advance.

Use natural lighting or get yourself a swival flash that cn detach from your camera. I use that most the time IF I don't have good natural light.
Use a sheet for a backdrop, but don't place your subjects right next to it. have them stand about 3 - 6 feet infront of it. More if possible.
