Too much noise....I'm not sure. ISO setting on the 717 was 200. Did some ps work on it but ended up liking the original better.

I don't understand that part 'ISO setting on the 717' - is that a camera model?
You could end with a lot of nouse with post-processing, especially if you change the brightness or Hue of the individual channels. What exactly did you do with it?
edit: excuse my typos

Sorry ...photo taken with the Sony 717. ISO had been left on 200. Didn't read through what I'd written |

There is a bit of noise, but not enough to feel "noisy"...it's almost more like Bokeh than noise.

I knew it was a Sony F717, but then I own one... ;-)
The noise isn't bad in this pic, but I don't see it as really adding either. In my mind's eye, it would have been a bit better with a creamy smooth background.
I find I like noise best in edgy shots, and photo journalism type pieces.
Just my 1 cent worth.

the noise is ok, although less would probably be better.
the main prob is the head is a little too dark and therefore a little more difficult to differentiate the details than optimal.

I'd like it better without the noise. However I think the bottom left corner coming out at you like that takes away from a really nice shot. If it were composed with the bee on the left as opposed to the right that wouldn't happen. That's nit-picky though, it's a really nice shot.

The noise takes away from the image. It is mainly concentrated (perceptually) in the background, and there is no reason for a background that would otherwise have been smooth to be that busy and draw attention to itself.
