This is a fun technique I just found out about it and its kinda hard to do but it looks like a hoot and would fun to try and do!
I was searching for a tutorial that I needed and came across this

I do a variation of of a zoomblur that I have dubbed a "spinblur". Instead of zooming the lens during the exposure, I hold the lens still and rotate the camera around it, which imparts a spin as well as the zoom blur. Results vary depending on shutter speed and other camera movements. Here are a couple I did the other day that I found pleasing.
 
You won't see many flower shots from me, so get 'em while you can.

Did you pick that up from me, or did you discover it independently?
I used the same technique for a while, it was particularly effective with the 15-85mm IS lens. |

| its an interesting effect, but i'm not sure I'd be able to take a whole challenge of it. |

On my own. I don't steal every idea.
I did it with this entry in 2010, but I think it only performed as well as it did because of the topic.

Here are a couple of mine from the last few years. It was a lot harder to do back in the days of film only, but digital makes it fairly easy to shoot a lot and pick the ones that work.

I "discovered" it independently for my most recent "Blur" entry ... |
Your camera isn't capable of that is it? For this to work you have to have a zoom lens that has a ring-type zoom. |

I just meant I did the twisting around the central axis of the lens ... you're right that I can't zoom during exposure with my usual set-up, though you're making me thing of workarounds ... :-( |
