I am not complaining about my finish at all...I'm quite happy with my 90 percentile!
But I am curious as to why so many 1's and 2's (and I guess 3's to a lesser extent) for this shot? I do know it's normal to get some 1's. I looked at many others that finished below mine, and they didn't have this many, so it's not the typical vote-em-down brigade (I am sure I had even more 1's but they were thrown out by the filter).
I don't think there's anything wrong with it technically. So if there is, tell me and I'll learn. Was it the "Ewww" factor? People just don't like spiders so they give it a 1?
Happy to hear any feedback, including negative. I won't argue, just want to know.

To me the spider looks dead, shriveled up. Might be part of it. . .

For what its worth...I gave your shot a 9. The shot has wonderful lighting and the greayscale is excellent. Technically the photo is exceptional, at least in my eye. |

I gave your shot a 7, might've been higher if I wasn't so afraid of spiders ;P
I got some 2's but no 1's this challenge, which seems to be a rareity. People are different. Altogether, it's a lovely capture. |

For what its worth, I gave you a 7 because it was technically a good shot. but I agree with Jadin that the spider looked dead, otherwise I might have scored it higher.

I started to vote and comment on this challenge (first in a long while), but didn't have time to get enough done to have my vote count. I don't remember the exact score, but it was probably a 5 or 6. The reason, as I stated in my comment during the challenge, is the spider is dead. The tingling of the skin your image is trying to convey only comes from the movement of the legs against the skin and hair. Everything was there -- except that dread of having something on you that is alive.
