Black 300d in the UK - DPChallenge Forums

For those that think it has to be black to be good the 300D is in Jessops with the kit lens and battery grip for Â£849 :)

It's most likely a grey market camera, since the Black 300D was ONLY intended for Asia

I'd rather have a Silver camera under waranty...here in Montreal, the release of the 300D pretty much killed the sales of 10D's...imagine if it had been black!?

I agree that the silver body sucks....big time...but it changes nothing about the shot.

I thought Jessop's was one of the larger chains in the UK. Why would they be selling gray market products? Unless of course it's used.

could be used, could be just a rumour...or could be grey market...but it ain't suppose to be there

There were some other vendors in Canada too. Evidently it's just not in the US.

Of course if you have the silver one and are not inclined to upgrade to the black one, you could, not that I am recommending this, get by with a can of krylon spraypaint. Of course, why not just get all badass and paint some flames or racing stripes while you're at it. Then, your camera would be badass.

Not Grey Import, it's been released for Europe and US.

Check out Canon Germany site for details. The kit is Black 300d, lens kit and Battery grip.

Jessops don't do grey (or gray) and yes they are a leading highstreet store that price match. However, will you take a better picture paying an extra Â£100 to shoot with a black cam? badass or not (though it looked mean)

Wow, I'm stunned...I attended a Canon event not 10 days ago and that was the FIRST question they prensenter got asked..and the answer was only in asia until fall 2005 !

Perhaps, the stores are just "saying" they're available with the intent of pushing something else.... this as happened before... or Canon Canada sent a Retard for the presentation.

In the end, one thing is for sure we all agree that a Black 300d camera will take better pictures...and that a black 300d camera owner is a "real" pro......

Ok...well being the paranoid dude that I am...I just Called the store that sells the black 300D in Canada... They're called CARMAN in toronto...and I was told by the sales person: the Black 300D is IMPORTED from our shop in the uk...which gets it from the store in KOREA. no kidding.
