To all of those who liked my stopped motion 2 entry thank you!!! I received many great and encouraging comments. I also got a few not so nice ones from commenters who thought my pic was faked. So here's my unedited pic, under comments you can see how I did it. I really didn't know what I was doing, so its a little blurry and the lighting could have been better. I may try to reshoot it since so many liked the idea and there is room for improvement.

I really like your photo, I think you did a wonderful job. Don't let comments like that get to you. Just keep up the good work.

Perseverence to 'get the shot' is a requisite for serious photogs. Your results justify the effort, an exceptional photograph. |

yeah, don't worry about the comments.
If the guy that said you faked the shot because there were no game piece shadows on the game below, looked at the image, he could have figured out that the flash came from the side, therefore the shadows would not be cast downward.
Congrats on a very nice shot.

I loved that shot (the one entered), surprised it didn't come higher than it did.
If I were you I'd take people thinking that you cheated when you didn't as a huge compliment :) You managed to achieve something they could not achieve uwithout cheating. Good on you :)

Hang in there, Janice. We all get these strange comments from people who perhaps haven't taken the time to figure things out. When you're new, these remarks seem to hit a little harder. But you're good and getting better. That's what counts. |

i will back up Nator on this, if people think you cheated to get the shot, then you did a good job getting the pic.

Wow, that reminds me so much of a shot I did last year!

I'm trying to remember the exact quote one of my colorful old scoutmasters used to say... something like... don't worry about him, there is always one ass following a person around acting shitty.
Well, whatever it was, it seems to apply to these people running around screaming fake after every shot. Don't worry about them. |

Looking at his other feedback left, he seems pretty hasty to point out that someone else also "cheated". Apparently he isn't familiar with the ingenuity of the DPChallenge crew :) |

Just as a reminder to everyone, if you get a comment that questions whether your photo is genuine or not, you can use the admin note system to get your photo validated - just remember to tell the SC why you want one too!

Looking at his feedback, and the results of his lone entry, it seems he may be nursing some wounds.
Me? I know I'm a crappy photographer. Always lazy, looking for the easy shots. But at least I didn't think you cheated. And I scored you higher than what you got.

It's sad that people don't give the photographer the benefit-of-the-doubt. Just a good thing they're in the minority. This was a great shot that you should be proud of. The thought of cheating never even entered my mind when I viewed this. Hold your head high, you did a great job! :) |
