Post your outtakes from the Steampunk challenge here.

Was very much on the fence with this one. I didn't have the time or access to model and wardrobe to do the portrait thing, but I do have the old Bethlehem Steel Blast Furnace in driving distance from me - a place that defines the look of Steampunk from an architectural perspective for me. Security was such that I couldn't get behind the fences, but I managed to get these shots over the fence. I was leaning heavy on my outtake, but asked a couple other photographers and friends more familiar with the genre which they thought was better and went with their almost unanimous selection. I don't know I would have done much better, but there's always the nagging question...

Both are great shots Jake. Personally I like your outtake more (except for the washed-out floor), but I guess the result would have been the same.

That's the way I'm looking at it, Kees - some would have preferred, others not, overall result would have been largely the same. BTW, the "floor" is snow as you can see some blades of grass and weeds pop thru. :)

I think I agree with Kees. I like both -- I gave your entry a 7, but I think I like the detail in the outtake.

My thought is on Jakes:

I LOVE the outtake way more than your entry.. the flooring doesnt bother me at all and I think if you had cropped it out, it would have lost that punch with the weeds.... Just more to it and more fun all over

Mark, I love your outtake as well over your entry..
Just fits the steampunk better with her eye trinkets and the background fits it perfectly as well..
