I have to say that Leica service is absolutely amazing. Yes, you pay a premium for their stuff but it holds value very well and also the service is unequalled.
I had an M240, developed a sensor issue at ISO 640, replaced FOC, I then ended up with another M240 (don't ask) that also had the ISO 640 issue, apparently I have discovered a fault in the system, sensor upgraded and replaced FOC.
Got a monochrome had a couple of dead pixels, sent to Leica for a remap and CLA, FOC. Somehow I managed to get a scuff on the sensor, I have no idea how but photos show it was not there after coming back from Leica, so, had to send off again, I was given a Leica M9 as a loaner until mine was back, they have replaced the sensor CLA'd and you guessed it FOC!!!
That is amazing, I think so anyway. Just wanted to give Leica Mayfair and the team at Wetzlar a BIG thumbs up..
ETA - All these cameras were used and not purchased from Leica Mayfair at all...

Great they took care of you and all, but I think I like my $1200 drama-free camera better than I would like a (see what I did there) $6000 camera that's in the shop half the time. |

Fuji UK is just down the road from me, I used to own the X-Pro-1 and when the electrics shorted out it took them 3 months to sort it and charged me a lot of cash, they also would not let me drop in to collect it they had to send it at my cost.. but as you say, drama free.
I have the X-T1 and that seems fine for now but I have read about people having issues with bits breaking off including the rubber ... not happened to mine yet though, and I do love Fuji colour..
I have no issues with Leica having the camera in for repair .. My M8 never had any problem at all, my M9 again was faultless, the M240 was an issue at only ISO640 and the other was a dead pixel.. most companies would not fix it for a dead pixel and definitely not FOC, the scratch is again my problem and not a fault of the camera or the company.. but again, they replaced the sensor FOC and the turn-around was inside 6 weeks ... :)
It's all about being pleased with the product, and each to their own, I Love my Leica (and the X-T1). |

Oh OK - sorry to hear you had that problem, maybe I've just been lucky the X-E2 hasn't acted up yet.
Guess with small/medium sized companies making cameras in smaller numbers there would be some small issues. |

Sounds awesome to me, I'm always willing to pay more if I know I'm going to be treated right. |
