On challenge submissions do we include EXIF?

OR

Do we retain the EXIF and submit it if required?

Cheers

There are certain programs that can read the exif from the images whilst they are still in voting if you include it when you upload.

If you use Save for Web, this usually strips this data to provide an extra layer of 'anonymity'.

If validation is required, when you submit your raw file (or jpg if that's what you used for your entry), this includes the exif as it should be the file straight from your camera, with no alterations.

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks Pam,

We do not have to include it on submission. Is that correct?

You see, if I exclude the EXIF I am able to submit a more high res image.

Yes.

EXIF information is not required for the submission file. If present, the exposure, date, camera and lens information of your submission will be automatically populated. If not, you will have to enter it yourself.

What is required is that you retain your original capture, as it came out of the camera (JPEG, RAW...) with valid EXIF information inside for validation.

Thanks damjanev,

I have taken Pam's advice and saved the image as a plugin.
I believe that this strips the EXIF.
