My initial idea was to shoot ballet slippers in a high key white-on-white fashion. With some soft focus or white glow from the backlighting. This plan fell apart. I failed to obtain ballet slippers :-(. Plan B were my Mom's old ice skates. Really, really old Adidas, ladies size 7. My sister used to use them as well, years ago. Good thing they knew where they were stored.
Here is the entry. This was my original idea with the skates, but i didn't like it, at first. I gave it a second chance while processing the images. It was the most popular candidate among friends and family.
Outtake one. Change of scenery. The first image from the shoot i really liked.
Outtake two. A bit of fill at the bottom, from camera left, was nice, but it produced a nasty hard shadow on the right.
Outtake three, photo session number two. Decided to re-shoot the skates. Untied the laces and made the fill softer.
Outtake four. Change of composition. Laces still untied.

I like the one you entered, I think it was the right one..
Here are mine from my shoes, I first just wanted the bottom of the dress and shoes, but after a small break I came to her sitting down in the corner and just shot what I did..
Entry
Outtakes
I was trying to work on something like this.. but the shots just did not come out as planned and what I had visioned and it was hard to get the sharpness like I wanted and the right angle to where it didn't look stupid
These are a few other shots

you both picked the right ones!
Damjan - your entry is best mostly because of the light background which resembles ice
Julie - I like your entry most because she looks happy and there is most sharpness and less distracting ruffles in it |

Damjan, I quite like your last outtake.
Julie, you definitely chose the right entry. It is full of charm and the tones are nice. (And it shared the red/yellow spot in my voting lineup.)) |

I think I should have entered this if I'd processed it in time.

Pity, you didn't manage to enter the second shot. I really like it.
