I'm trying to upgrade the firmware on my Sony a6000 from the original 1.0 to 1.10. I'm on a Mac running OS/X Yosemite 10.10.1. I'm following the instructions on the Sony site to the letter but I'm getting an error which is apparently not uncommon as you can see at this link...

Is anyone here in the same boat, and more importantly, if you are have you figured out a way around it? I've got my wife's Windows machine that I could use to try the upgrade, but I'd much rather get it working on my machine since Sony requires you to install a bunch of software to do it.

God bless Nikon for making it so darn easy. And I don't say that about them that often.

OK, well just so it's here for future reference...

From all I can find Sony is definitely behind on making their update software available for current Mac OS-X versions. Currently they only support thru 10.8. I was able to get it done in about 20 minutes on a Windows 7 box.
