I am pasting this in from a Kodak Forum, but it applies to all us when we are feeling a little "whiny" about what we or our cameras can or can't do. This really hit me with a power and hopefully some of you will enjoy reading it, too. Thanks.
"I have a friend who has arthritis, photography to her was a thing of the past, as she could no longer hold the larger and heavier SLRs and that is not the mention the assortment of lenses, bag and all the rest of the goodies one carries. Putting film in the camera was done by someone else as her hands are so twisted and painful, she could not hold the film.
Knowing of her love for photography and her continued membership in a camera club, even though she no longer completed, her husband bought her the 6490. Her world of photography has opened back up again. She still has difficulty with stablization, as her hands are shaky, but with outdoor photography, she is in her glory and loving every minute by being "A PHOTOGRAPHER AGAIN"
No heavy equipment, no film to put in, no long zoom lenses, she can now hold and use the 6490 to explore her world and express it through photography again. Sometimes the buttons and dial have to be set by someone else as her hands cant push the right buttons and the dial, easy as it is to healthy person, is very difficult for her.
Yes other camera's may have worked as well for her, perhaps the stablization of the Canon S1 might have helped too, but she loves the LCD and even with her shaking hands, she can see what she just photograhed."
